If you are considering purchasing any of The House of Portfolio products it would be usefull for you to read the questions listed below. We fully understand that for some people it will be their first purchase who may not understand some of the questions asked. If there are any questions that you are unsure of please either email or telephone us and we shall be happy to explain in more detail what information we require to make sure that you order exactly what you want.

If you are a student please mention this when contacting us for a quote.

Please ensure that you have included your telephone number in any email communication. Our portfolios do not just come in one size with a set number of pages they come in all sizes and often we are not given enough information in emails to provide a precise quote (we are not mind readers). Image size is required and we need to know how many pages you require in the portfolio. If you are contacting us regarding a quote please do this by email. Please note that all our measurements are HEIGHT x WIDTH therefore a standard Agency Portfolio book is 14 x 11" Portrait. It is therfore advisable to state portrait or landscape when asking for quotes.

Appointments

The London office of The House of Portfolios operates strictly by appointment only in order to give customers a professional service and 100% of our time. Same day appointments are usually available to view products.

Our appointments are for artists who genuinely require portfolios and not for people who's sole intention is nothing other than trying to fish us for information on agents.

Due to the demand on appointments by genuine customers all appointments for viewing portfolios are now charged at £20 an hour this is paid in advance by any major credit card except American Express. This fee is fully refundable on all portfolio orders placed within 7 working days.

We do not charge for appointments to people who are already customers of the London Office of House of Portfolios or charge customers who are represented by any of the following agencies which can be found on the following links page. http://www.houseofportfoliosdirect.co.uk/Links.html

 

You can place orders in 3 different ways and all UK customers should place their orders through the London Office of House of Portfolios. The prices are exactly the same no matter which office you order through.

For pick up from the London Office:-

All of our products are sold at the USA $ dollars amount the sterling amount is the approximate amount and payments for made to order products are charged in US dollars and therfore there is no VAT charge. All prices on this website have the shipping cost included in the price for pick up from the London Office as many of our customers do as it is convenient and cheaper than having it delivered directly to them as deliveries to Houes of Portfolios in London come over a set weight therefore the shipping cost is cheaper. www.houseofportfolios.co.uk includes the shipping cost within the price stated on this site.

All London stock pages are invoiced and charged in £'s Sterling and there is no VAT to be added to the amount . There is a minimum order of 20 pages.

Delivered directly to your address:-

For prices for delivery to your address you will be charged at www.houseofportfoliosdirect.co.uk website prices but you need to remember this excludes the freight cost cannot be determined until the order is completed, packed and weighed.

The London office can give you an approximate cost of the freight . Please contact the office for more information.

Pick up from The House of Portfolios in New York:-

Orders can be placed through the London Office for pick up from the New York office you will be charged the www.houseofportfoliosdirect.co.uk product price but you need to remember that a 8.875% New York sales tax applies to all orders picked up from the shop in New York. Orders will need to be placed 3 weeks before the intended collection date . Please contact the London office for more information.

Repeat Orders

We hold records of all past orders so you can reorder over the telphone or by email if you wish to do so. If your previous order was placed through another office please allow 24hrs for us to be able to check your past order.

 
   

 

Pages

The London office stocks a large number of different size acetate pages please note that the minimum order is 20 pages. We also take orders for specially cut and punched pages on a 7 - 10 day turnaround time from ordering.

  To avoid any confusion please state whether it is Portrait or Landscape that is required
 
Do you require a 4 lip portfolio (protective covering over the screw heads)
 
 
What spine width do you require (We can assess this for you if you do not know)

What sort of pages do you require - (See pages section) Black Acetate are standard.
 
 
Do you require a Title Page (Fly Sheet) One in the front only? Or back and front? Front Title Page Embossed?
 
 
Do you want your portfolio embossed or to carry a logo. If you require a logo please send us the logo at the correct size before asking us for a quote as we cannot price a logo until we actually see the logo and measure the size.

  • Do you require Blind Stamping or another form of stamping. Please not that on Leather and Suede we recommend Blind Stamping. On Fabric and Waxskin we recommend colour.
 
  • Where do you want your name stamped on the cover - Optical Centre is standard unless you specify otherwise (1" above centre of the portfolio)
   
Portfolios come with a back pocket. All prices quoted on our sites for for portfolios with standard lining. Plaese see image below.  
 
We also make leather lined portfolios please see image below. These are more expensive, for example on a 14 x 11" portfolio this would be an extra $95

A brief description of the leathers available for portfolios and all our other goods
 
  • Bastante Leather - This is a smooth leather with a clean finish. Bastante leather costs more that all the other ranges of leather.
  • Black Naked Leather - This is our most popular black leather a hard wearing matt leather.
  • Bronco Oaktree - Distressed leather only available in this one colour.
  • Foresta Leather - A distressed (Antique Look) range of leather.
  • Luxe Leather - A very plain leather, the most uninteresting but also the hardest wearing of all the leathers available.
  • Marrakech - Also known as Marrakesh (I wish Americans could make up their minds on how they want to spell words rather than bringing out a range they call Marrakesh and then changing it to the correct spelling Marrakech). This is a very popular glossy leather.
  • Metallic Leather - Piombo is a smooth leather, Gold, Silver and Pewter are textured.
  • Provost Leather - This is an Aniline leather with an oil like finish.
  • Royce Leather - This is an extremely nice very smooth leather.
  • Wyoming Leather - This is a very high grain leather which means that it shows the natural veins and is extremely popular with a very good range of colours.

What is a 4 Lip portfolio ?
   
A 4 Lip portfolio has a protective strip which prevents the screw heads from making an indent on the inside back cover. All portfolios come with a back inside pocket as standard.
